Cursed Technique: The Beat of My Own Drum
 

CT Explanation: TBoMOD is a innate technique passed down through the Yamagishi family. A baby 
in the family is only born with it every 100 years. TBoMOD manipulates the user mind to subconsciously 
pick up any and all musical sounds (songs, beats, instrument playing etc) and translates it into a bonus 
in physical and mental attributes for the user. The user can enhance strength, speed, or even cursed energy 
output with the technique. Different songs will have more or less bonus depending on multiple things including
 but not limited to emotion of user and song synergy, how much the user actually likes the song, how intense the
 song is, and volume. The user can use this to hit on beat to increase the damage of attacks, defend and evade 
easier, and access their other CE attributes, like their domain and Reverse Cursed Technique if the user is that
 advanced in cursed energy manipulation. The user has a metronome in their head that can be used to increase the 
bonus of the CT by clicking it on beat."On beat" can mean on lyrics or instrumental, any sound in the song can be
 used to click on beat. This gives the user a tactical advantage because the opponent can be focused on the lyrics 
to predict the peak of CE, while the user is actually using  the instrumental. Finally, The user can access a state 
of musical enlightenment where instead of relying on their reaction time to get the peak of CE, their body will do it 
for them, greatly increasing the chances of a black flash happening. The user can reach this state in two ways; either 
intense and prolonged fighting and exposure to music will kick it on or the right circumstances when activating their domain.
 
Domain Expansion: "The Show Must Go On"


DE Explanation: When opening TSMGO, the user is put onto a stage and any non-users affected will 
be put into a crowd surrounding that stage. The stage is too high to be entered and has a shikigami 
called "Stage Security". The stage has 5 Shikigami called "The Band". The Band is responsible for 
playing the song the user chooses. They can play any song to complete perfection even if they lack 
that insturment, they however will not do lyrics. There will be a crowd of humanoid entities 
surrounding the stage called "The Crowd". They are responsible of rating the user's performance, 
the effected people in the domain will also be responsible for this, but majority rules so the 
decision comes down to The Crowd most of the time. The user will choose a song with lyrics, The 
Band will refuse to play otherwise. The user will then preform this song, their mind will be flooded 
with the lyrics, so it's about the other aspects of preforming. Dancing is one of the heavier effects 
on The Crowd, but good singing, heartfelt singing, and stage effects that can be controlled by the user, 
all persuade The Crowd into rating. After the user plays the designated amount of songs, a disembodied 
voice called "The Showmaster" will say "And the crowd goes..." where 1 out of 4 situations will play out. 
If the crowd stays silent, The Showmaster will say "...silent. Tough luck, kid" and close the domain with 
no extra boosts or setbacks. If the crowd boos the user, The Showmaster will say "...Mild. Sheesh tough crowd."
 and close the domain with a 25% decrease in CE. If the crowd claps, The Showmaster will say "...Wild! Nice job, kid!"
 and close the domain with a 25% increase to CE. If the user does 5 consecutive songs and gets a Wild rating from the
 crowd, The Showmaster will say "You know what they say in show business..." and close the domain with infinite cursed
 energy for one songs duration. The song will be chosen by the user, and only be audible in their head. While some people
 say choosing a longer song will be better, choosing the users favorite songs will hold a higher yield from pure power.
 
Backstory: Kanato Revere was born on August 7th 2002 with two things, an amazing sense of time, 
and a particular interest in music. His parents noticed when he would listen to music, he would 
get a bit faster and stronger, but had just shrugged it off. It wasn't until his 7th birthday 
when him and his best friend were play fighting, and being his music at his party, made him much 
stronger. When Kanato's punch connected, his best friend was thrown back with immense force, 
hitting a vending machine at the bowling alley he was celebrating at, which in turn knocked it over, 
folding his friend in half under it. He was scared, ashamed, and outcasted. His family kicked him out 
the next day, not even being able to look at their son who had killed a boy the day prior. Kanato left 
the house and went into the city. After living on the streets for 3 years at 10, a woman found Kanato 
sleeping in an alley. She brought him home and had became his mother. For five more years, Kanato lived 
peacefully. Until a curse had found him and his newfound mother. It ripped her to pieces as Kanato watched 
in horror, but she had known of Kanato's ability. So before the cursed grabbed her with its monster like arms, 
she turned on Kanato's radio. Cursed energy and anger flowed throughout Kanato's body. He beat that hideous monsters 
face into itself, but it was too late. Kanato had never been a sad person, but he cried for the second time of his life 
because his one true mother, the only woman who had changed his life, had now lost hers. So he sat in that house until 
he noticed a key on his mother's body. He grabbed it and after giving his true mother a proper burial, looked for what it 
could go to. At first he thought it was just a house key, but it hadn't matched his own. Only after bringing himself to 
enter his mother's room did he find it, a single small box with a keyhole. He slid the key in and turned. *click*. 
He opened the box. Pictures of himself and his new mother lie there with one outlier; a note in his mother's handwriting. 
He picked it up and read it. "My dear KanKan, if you are reading this, something has happened to me, and you found the key 
I had been hiding from you. I am sorry I can not be there for you, but you must go to Tokyo. There are people there, people like you. 
They'll teach you to use your power, not hide it. I am sorry I did not tell you sooner, but I value your education over combat. You 
can help people Kanato, I know you can, and I know you will. I love you always.". Kanato wanted to cry, but he knew what his mother 
would have wanted. So he began walking. Along the way he found other modes of transportation but the important thing is he got to Tokyo.
 No where in his mother's message to him did it say where he's going. So he walked along the Tokyo roads until he walked by a cafe that
 was playing music. He felt different like he always had listening to music, and the familiar purple colored flames enveloped him. 
Soon enough, a man in a black suit walked up to him. "I haven't seen you on campus at all. Are you new?". "Sorry guy, I don't know what 
you're talking about" Kanato replied. "So you don't go to Jujutsu High? What about Kyoto?" "Nope. Are you confusing me with someone else?". 
The man stopped for a moment. "Do you know what Jujutsu is?" he asked. Kanato said "Never heard of it.". The man pulls out his phone and makes
 a call. "Principal Yaga, I have a sorcerer here who doesn't know what Jujutsu is... I know because he's emitting crazy amounts of cursed 
energy right now... If he doesn't know what Jujutsu is I don't believe he know his cursed technique sir... Yes sir right away sir.". He puts the
 phone away. "Do you happen to be Kanato?". Kanato is shocked how he got his name, but keeps his cool. "Yeah that's me, I don't think I did anything
 wrong, sir." "I know. There are some people who are expecting you Kanato, follow me. Cautiously, Kanato follows the man to a car. They drive for a
 bit before stopping at a staircase. As the ascend, the man speaks. "I should probably brief you on this. We are Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical 
Society. We specialize in exorcising curses and training new sorcerers, which is what you are. That stuff that comes off you sometimes, that's called
 cursed energy, and you seem to have a lot of it, which makes you pretty interesting, especially seeing how you haven't even heard about Jujutsu. 
You're going to meet Principal Yaga for a interview. Be on you're best behavior, because if you fail this interview, you cannot get into the school.". 
Kanato looks at the door in front of him. A sense of nervousness overtakes him, but he shakes it off, his mom would have wanted him to be brave. He walks 
into the room and spots a man sitting at the end of it. He walks up "Uh- are you Principal Yaga, sir?". "Yes that is me, I assume you are Kanato?" "Yes sir." 
"Great, your mother told me to expect you in the case she...". Kanato looks down. "I am sorry for your loss, Kanato. She told me about you, but she did not know 
what your cursed technique is, but she knows you emit great amounts of cursed energy when in contact with music, which leads me to believe you have the inherited 
technique 'The Beat of My Own Drum', which enhances physical and mental performance when in contact with music. We are going to test that." Yaga pulls a radio from 
behind him and turns it to a music station. The purple flames cover him. "Sorry that happens sometimes" Kanato says. "That is called cursed energy. It is the source 
of all Jujutsu. You appear to have enormous amounts of it with music.". Yaga pulls out what looks like a stuffed animal "This is a cursed corpse. I can make these with 
my cursed technique", the corpse begins to move "This is going to attack you" Yaga says. "Your goal is to neutralize it. I will be pausing and unpausing the music to test
 your technique and physical combat prowess". The doll rushes Kanato and punches him. He stumbles back. "Man this thing packs a punch". It rushes him again but he grabs it
 before it gets to attack him and punches it across the room. It gets back up and after exclaiming some noises, gets back up and and rushes him. While it is running at him, 
Yaga shuts off the music. The cursed corpse attacks Kanato, and with no music, is a bit harder for him to fight off . They exchange blows but Kanato grabs the corpse and starts
 barraging it with punches to the face. Principal Yaga sees this as a opportunity to what he can really do. He turns on the music and Kanato starts barraging faster and stronger.
 When he's done, a cursed corpse becomes a corpse for the second time and there is a sizeable divot in the ground. "Sorry I- think I killed it. A-and the floor too i'll fix that."
. Principal Yaga takes a moment "Very respectful yet, even more powerful. There is just one more question." "Sure whatever you want to know." Kanato replies. "Why do you want to be a 
Jujutsu sorcerer?". Kanato thinks a moment. He thought of that vending machine, his mother, his entire life. "I want two things. To be better at combat and cursed energy control, and 
to make the world safe from all threats. I've killed and witnessed killing, and I don't like either of them, so I guess I want to minimize all of that." "Hm. You are indeed quite powerful,
 but your reasoning is quite shallow." the principal replies. "Well the reasoning behind my reasoning goes deeper than anyone will ever know." Kanato says. "Hm" Principal Yaga thinks. 
"Congratulations Kanato, welcome to Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College".
