What if after the time skip, King and Collector explored their friendship a bit more?
Titan, King was so nervous, he was so nervous. He hasn’t seen Collector in a while and he was coming over to the Owl House! Should he grab snacks or drinks? What? Why should he do that? Collector doesn’t need to eat or drink!
King opened his eyes to see the immortal 12 year old floating and directly in his face, smiling their big cheeky smile. “Heya King! Eda was kinda confused to see me but she shrugged and said ‘Whatever. This is King’s bull-” Collector was muffled by King pressing his paw onto their mouth.
“D-don’t say that! That’s uh…that’s a bad word! Okay?” Collector laughed and grinned at King, “Dude, I play Fortnite. I hear WAY worse stuff than THAT!” Collector laughed and did a little summer salt in the air. Besides the confusion King had (How the heck did he get an Xbox?), he was feeling a little better. He has no clue what he was so nervous about. Collector doesn’t need to be impressed or wowed, he just needs a friend.
“Sooo….I do like floating up here, but like, do you wanna talk about somthin’?” Collector said, breaking the silence King was enjoying.
King cleared his throat with and awkward chuckle. “Well….yea…that’s what I called you here for…..ya know, to talk.” King grabbed Collector’s hand, trying to get them to stop floating and to sit down.
Collector grinned and plopped onto King’s bed. “Oh! Hehehe! This is comfy! And bouncy!” Collector started bouncing on the bed and King had to grab their shoulders to stop them so they can meet his eyes.
King sighed without opening his mouth, a trick he learned at the ripe age of 5. “Coll, I want to talk about our friendship.” King said with a serious look on his face. Collector grinned at him and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. “Our friendship? There’s nothing to talk about! We’re friends!” Collector said with a big smile that faltered into a small, sad looking smile. “Right?” King winced internally, the fact that Collector is so used to rejection because of their siblings and Belos, hurt him. “Of course we’re friends! Coll, I will never NOT be your friend okay?” Collector smiled at that.
“Okay than! Let’s talk!”
12 minutes later
“So….yea I do think Luz dying was my fault. But it’s okay! She’s alive and happy!” Collector said, for the last 12 minutes, King has gotten them to open up A LOT. “Although, I thought for a while you didn’t like me, thought you didn’t want me around” Collector said with a soft expression on their face. Somehow, Collector kept tracking back to when they thought King betrayed them. Collector curled up on themself and started crying. King looked at Collector and internally frowned.
“I don’t hate you, ya know.” King said, holding his arms open, Collector liked to cuddle when they became sad since they lost Francois.
Collector crawled into King’s embrace and they held each other. They stayed like that the rest if Collector’s visit, even when he stopped crying.
