Kevin’s Phone case

Annika’s phone case (Kevin made it for her)

“I guess this is the place, Kevin” Annika said as she exited the taxi her twin brother, Kevin, exiting on the other side. Before them was a house that the two had saved up together to buy and move away from the town they had grown up in. “It’s a lot more… Charming than Zillow presented it isn’t it?” Kevin commented as his eyes scanned over his and his sister’s new home. Annika had half expected for the house to be, as Kevin had put it, this charming. Although her and Kevin had put almost all their combined funds into buying the home they had only worked part-time jobs for the past 6 years of their life but majority of those 6 years was either high school or college. They had managed to earn up enough money so that when they graduated college they could get their own house in a place where no one knew who they were. Annika walked up to the front door and unlocked it with the key the realtor had given them the day before when they finalized the purchase. As she pushed the door open it creaked, that was one thing the two would have to fix. While in the car the two had done a best out of three game of rock, paper, scissors to decide who would be the one to eventually move out and get their own place eventually. Kevin had won this which meant that Annika would be stuck with these problems unless they got fixed. As the two entered into the living room of the house they saw two masses covered by white clothes one of them of which Kevin suspected to be a couch so he walked over and pulled the cloth off confirming his suspicions as an old couch emerged from beneath the cloth. Kevin fell backwards onto the couch using his arms as a headrest before speaking “I guess this’ll be where I’m sleeping till my room gets added on”. When Kevin and Annika had figured out that the house only had one bedroom Kevin had decided to call up an old friend he knew he could get a discount from so he could have a room added onto the house for himself. But that was going to take a whole season so until then he would be sleeping on the couch. “I guess that means that your rooms that way sis” Kevin said pointing at a door across the room from the couch. Annika walked over to the door opening it and entering her new room. There was a small single person bed, a nightstand, a lamp, and a drawer. Annika walked over to the lamp and turned it on “Well at least we have power” she said before turning the lamp back off. She decided to pull out her phone to check the time, it was 7:09 PM. She acknowledged this before putting her phone back in her pocket and walking back into the living room. “Ok so the truck with all our stuff in it won’t be here until tomorrow around 5:00 PM so-” She stopped herself halfway as her eyes landed on her brother asleep on the couch. Annika sighed before a slight smile came to her face before she took a blanket out she had watched Kevin stuff into his backpack when they were packing the bags they’d be carrying with them. She placed the blanket over top of Kevin before going to zip his backpack back up though she noticed a picture had fallen out of his backpack most likely from when she was grabbing the blanket from it. She picked it up looking at the picture, it was a picture of Kevin and his two friends, Jessica and Cara, in their freshman year of high school. Annika’s eyes scanned over the picture before she put it back in her brother’s backpack. She went back to her new room plopping down on her bed before pulling out her phone to scroll through. It wasn’t long before she fell asleep though, drifting off with her phone laying on top of her. Tomorrow was going to be their first day as residents of Loch Haven.
