Captain Man (real name Roger J. Davenport III) is a British-born American and a former World War II veteran. Before he joined the war, Roger was injected with a serum, referred to as “Compound B”, which granted him with superpowers. However, a few days after the experiment, Roger’s parents were killed in a house bombing by Nazis. As a result, Roger vowed to avenge their deaths and become protect the world from all other evil. Several months later, Roger began training to defeat the one responsible for his deaths, Adolf Hitler. During the war, many of Roger’s troop was immediately killed and overruled by the Nazis. However, Roger decided to utilize his powers to defeat the German soldiers on his own, with his brand new titanium-shield. With all the Nazis dead, Roger was able to track down Hitler and fight with him hand-to-hand. Roger eventually overpowers him and proceeds to beat him to death with his shield. Afterwards, Roger was ambushed by Plex Industry, a secret company that manages for superhumans, and later taken into their facility. Roger was later frozen in a cryo-chamber for the next 70 years until he is eventually thawed out and freed by Henry Davenport, deciding to become a vigilante.

History

Roger J. Davenport III was born on November 30th, 1908 in The Bronx to Roger Davenport Jr, a former World War I veteran, and Martha Davenport, a nurse who used to work for the U.S. army. Roger lived with his parents and grandparents and was raised in The Bronx. Sometime in the 1960s, Roger’s brother James was born while he was in a cryo-chamber. Roger Theodore Davenport was born in 1910 on the 4th of July to Jonah and Martha Davenport. As a child, Roger wanted to be in the military and was always bullied because of this dream. When Roger turned 21 years old, he decided to enlist into the U.S. Army and was later accepted. After he was enlisted into the army, he was chosen to be experimented on by his grandfather for a company called Plex Industry. While Roger was in their lab, he was injected with a mysterious liquid known as Compound B, a serum that grants the user superhuman abilities. The serum granted Roger with various immense superhuman abilities such as his incredible strength, durability, speed, reflexes, agility, stamina and his trademark regeneration and energy blasts. After he gained his superpowers, he continued to utilize his powers to lead his team to victory in World War II, however his most of his team was killed in the ensuing battle. Afterwards, Roger continues to fight with Adolf Hitler and even after he beats him, he continues to brutally murder him by smashing his head in several times with his trademark shield. After the murder, Roger is ambushed by Plex Industry which causes them to cryogenically freeze but continue to experiment on him. 80 years later, Roger was unfrozen by Henry Davenport after the latter knocked into his cryo-chamber.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

  • Superhuman Strength: After being injected with the Compound B serum, Roger was given a plethora of superhuman abilities. One of his primary abilities is his tremendous superhuman strength, which is able to lift over 1 trillion tons. When Roger first gained his superpowers, he demonstrated his raw strength by lifting up an entire tank and throwing it at a great distance. He has also shown his strength by launching a baseball around the world. As of this day, no other superhuman in Roger’s universe has shown to be stronger than him.
  • Superhuman Durability: Roger is nearly indestructible to all attacks. His skin is completely bulletproof and capable of enduring even the biggest tanks. He was able to reflect bullets after being shot at by the Nazis and later by Plex Industry. He is also completely immune to all types of diseases, as he was claimed to have survived the bubonic plague. Although he can be harmed, he can still survive thanks to his regeneration and immortality.
  • Superhuman Speed and Reflexes: Roger is extremely fast and can run at immense speeds. He was able to catch up to a Cadillac going at 200 miles (per hour). Roger also possesses inhuman reflexes as he was able to intercept a fellow soldier’s punches during combat training. Roger was able to dodge ammunition from a Panzer V’s 75mm cannon.
  • Superhuman Agility: Roger is incredibly agile and is capable of performing the most skilled acrobatics, such as backflips, somersaults and even a triple double flip. Roger is able to move his limbs at a superhuman speed, giving him a chance to dodge several attacks. Roger is flexible enough to perform the hardest martial arts and even combat with another flawlessly.
  • Superhuman Stamina: Roger possesses an endless amount of energy and is able to endure pushing himself beyond his limits. Roger is able to continue fighting with others without showing any signs of fatigue. Roger’s muscle doesn’t produces fatigue toxins which allows him to continue participating in physical activity without tiring himself out. As a result of this ability, Roger is able to survive for years without needing any food, sleep or even breathing.
  • Regenerative Healing Factor: Roger’s trademark power is his incredible regeneration was able to regenerate from any severe attack. Roger was able to regenerate after being shot by a tank. He was also able to regenerate after being bombed several times by the Nazis.
  • Thermo-Nuclear Gamma Blasts: Due to the Compound B serum exposing him to high-levels of gamma rays and being exposed to dangerous levels of solar energy, Roger was able to withdraw thermo-nuclear energy and release it into gamma radioactive blasts from his chest. Roger’s blasts were powerful enough to harm even the strongest superhumans.
  • Immortality: Due to the Compound-B serum, Roger cannot produce aging cells which allowed him to age. The lack of aging organisms, Roger is completely immortal to all death. Despite being born in 1908, Roger has the appearance and health of a man is his thirties.
