–name?” Ky queried. “Shade,” Jason answered back. “Aw cute name.” Nova had crept back nearer to the two. “Yeah, my pet and Ky’s are monsters; I guess you can call it cute,” said Jason, rolling their eyes. Eliza purred gently as Ky gave her a scratch on the head, saying, “Well, Eliza is a cute little albino manticore cub.” “If you think monsters are cute, then yeah,” grinned Jason. “Well, my dads think Eliza is adorable!” Ky said, setting the manticore back down. Eliza approached Jason. Jason stroked the manticore cub’s head and said, “Well, my sister and parents are both dead, so yeah.” “I have a shadow cat with some kind of power, but they express it differently every day, so I never know what the power is called,” Nova said, obviously out of breath for no apparent reason. Jason questioned, “Why are you out of breath?” Ky said, “I have the same question,” glancing at Nova. With a small head tilt, Jason asked, “Did you run?” Ky was unaware that the emblem of Hades had suddenly materialized above his head.

Nova responded to the two’s query. “Not exactly; it’s just the Apollo kids make me gag, and it makes me hot; don’t ask why they just do.” . “It might be because they are the offspring of the sun god,” Ky said humorously, smiling. “Also, is my hair on fire again? because something doesn’t feel quite right.” Jason pointed to a sign above Ky’s head and said, “Uh no, but there’s a sign over your head.” “Huh really?” Ky said, glancing above his head. Nova grinned and said, “Maybe you’re right, and aww, you were chosen.” “Cool!” Excited, Ky exclaimed, his hair once more going purple and fiery. “I want to be claimed!” Jason voiced their annoyance. Ky laughed at Jason’s complaining. “You’re going to be… Eventually, I’m bored, too, so you’re it!” Ky poked Jason on the shoulder. Jason said, “Bull crap!” and turned to face Nova. Ky had started to rush off, shouting, “Just tag Nova!” “Let’s not do that!” Nova exclaimed, looking a little alarmed. She summoned some stars, and they began to materialize all around her. In an attempt to avoid being tagged by Jason, Ky attempted to climb a tree, but he slipped and fell, striking his head. “Ow.” “Are you okay?” Nova said, using some of the stars she had formed to assist him. “Yes, absolutely,” Ky said, but as soon as he saw he had a black eye and a bloody nose, he started to laugh nervously and said, “I don’t think the ground likes me though.” Nova made the stars that she had previously made surround her disappear, and she ran over to Ky. “You sure? You’re actually bleeding.” . “Oh!” Ky exclaimed. ” That’s not good, then.” Just before he tried to stand up, he fell instantly . The person who had previously controlled Ky’s emotions had built an army of dreamdust platypus in the main pavilion, and rain caused them to ballroom dance with one another as rain watched. “I am not playing tag,” declared Jason as he sat down. They then called forth a skeleton and used it to play with rocks, paper, and scissors. Ky laughed at Jason’s slight stubbornness, saying, “You’re just mad that I got picked and you haven’t yet.” After giving it some thought, Jason said, “I can summon the dead; that’s something Hades’ children can do,” they said after taking a quick glance at Ky.
