History:
Jesses T. Miller was born in Elko, NV in 1879 where he lived with his parents
and brother until they relocated to a suburb outside of Laredo, TX in 1890.
There, he met widow Alice W. Brown nee Harper (b. May 31st 1875), whom he
married April 4th, 1896. Their daughter, Erin V. Miller, was born November
13th, 1896. 5 months later, A. Miller nee Brown nee Harper left TX to live
with her sister’s family in OK, leaving J. Miller with her 1st husband’s
property and her wedding ring, but taking her dowry and a number of valuables.
Very little correspondence is confirmed after this point(3 telegrams and 1
written letter on record, in file). J. Miller worked as a contractor. Thomas
“Tommy” G. Miller (b. August 23rd 1975) came to live with Jesse following the
desertion of A. Miller nee Brown nee Harper, and helped raise E. Miller. He
married Angela Rosa Martinez in 1905, who came to live with the brothers. T.
Miller and A. Miller nee Martinez had their first two children before E. Miller’s
death in 1907 following a car accident (Police report and copy of death
certificate in file). J. Miller experienced a mental break and burned down the
house of the man who crashed into them, and when pursued by police, resisted
arrest and led a car chase in a stolen police vehicle before being detained.
J. Miller served 7 years and 30 days in Huntsville Prison and was released
January 12th 1914 with 2 years parole. Record follows drunken
disorderlies(OK, 1916; KS, 1916; MO, 1917; VI, 1919; MA, 1920) and misdemeanor
battery (OK, 1916; VI, 1919; MA 1920; MA 1923). No record until processing in
London, England in 1927 on suspicion of murder of Officer Rupert Peters with
Nicoline Bourbeau, Dr.Elise M. Strauss, and Lt. Russel [REDACTED].
