The Pride Ring — A Controversial Source of Ego and Blood

As the second-to-last Ring set in the near-bottom of Hell, the Pride Ring has been the subject of many controversies and carnage. But who fully started it all? Well, the original King himself; Pagóni ‘Lucifer’ Yperifáneia

Known for immense physicality and overflowing ego, Lucifer was often considered to be the leader of the original Seven Sin Rulers and often commanded them into several conflicts with Heaven itself. In fact, this behavior would eventually lead to all seven of them being petrified by the King of Heaven after he lead the other Rulers to overthrow and conquer Heaven. However, he didn’t leave without a trace as he influenced his entire Ring to become a state of egoistical leadership without any regard for the consequences.

After Lucifer’s demise, the demons of the Pride Ring would fight for the claiming of the throne. Often called the Hubris Conquest, this consistent violence would last for an eternity decade before a King was finally crowned. That King would be Liontári ‘Fang’ Alazoneía; a Pride Demon who had fought in and survived the Winged War that also occurred during the Hubrid Conquest. And after his crowning, things continued to worsen.

For one thing, Fang decided to marry and crown Chéli ‘Jewel’ Lachtára—a Sea Demon from the Greed Ring—as his wife and Queen of the Pride Ring. This marriage and coronation was considered as a controversial betrayal given the history of the Greed Ring itself, but Fang ignored his followers’ concerns and continued onwards. He eventually had two sons with Jewel and named them Tígri ‘Xcer’ Zília and Peristéri ‘Tatoe’ Ypomoní. And although these two Princes remained popular among the Pride Demons, a different Prince would soon be known for his mysterious existence. That Prince would be the supposed Heir to the Pride Ring and second/middle Prince of the Ring; Lupus ‘Quince’ Ichor.

Quince was immediately stirred into controversy and conspiracy from his very first appearance. For one thing, his exact Species would be unknown and many would consider him as a Demon-Werewolf Hybrid. For another thing, his birth was never made public or even seen as it appeared that Jewel was never publicly pregnant with him. And as this outcasted member of Royalty grew up, he’d only become deeper into the drama, especially in regards to his rather rebellious behavior and his relationship with multiple people, including the Ruler of the Lust Ring themselves.

Eventually, however, Quince couldn’t take it anymore. And while the exact details are unknown outside of contradictory information and witness testimony, the Cannibal Massacre would be enacted. The Pride Prince would kill, cannibalize and mutilate over 300 Demons within the Pride Ring in less than an hour. Thankfully, he was eventually caught by the remaining Royal Guards. And when deciding to handle the situation, Fang decided to execute his own son via hanging.

This would be the final drama as the Pride Ring eventually calmed down after the execution of Quince was enacted. But as news of the former Prince still being alive spreads, this entire Ring may spiral back into its egotistical state and may become controversial once more.
